Wildcats End Regular Season with Overtime Win
Wildcats defeated Mesabi Range on the road in overtime.
On Saturday, the #20 NDSCS Wildcats traveled to Mesabi Range (RV) and overcame a second half deficit to force overtime and capture the win in their regular season finale.
The Wildcat defense stifled the Norsemen offense as they were held to just 96 yards of total offense. The defense was led up front by Marshuan Jones, who registered 8 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss. Kareem Williams and Jamire Jackson also got in on the action in the Mesabi Range backfield. Williams secured 2 tackles for loss and Jackson had 1, respectively.
Offensivley, NDSCS's ground attack rushed for over 200 yards with Prince Kruah and Kingston Myles doing the majority of the damage. Kruah totaled 94 yards on 28 carries, finding pay dirt one time and Myles rushed for 73 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown.
Quarterback Max Race passed for 100 yard as he connected with Marcus Hill and Grant Brown multiple times. Hill hauled in five passes for 55 yards and Brown snagged 3 passes for 35 yards and scored the lone receiving touchdown for the Wildcats.
Up next, the Cats (7-1) will host Dakota College Bottineau (5-3) on Sunday, October 28 in the First Round of the MCAC Playoffs. Kick off is set for 1:30 pm.
