With less than favorable field conditions the NDSCS Wildcats took on the MN North Mesabi Range Norse. An extremely wet and muddy field would play a big factor in the game, the Norse struck first moving the ball through the air and scoring on an 11-yard TD pass. That would be all the action in the first making the score 7-0 Mesabi Range, as the Wildcats struggled to move the ball early. The second quarter was dominated by NDSCS, as the wildcats got their running game going and marched down the field to score on a 6-yd TD run from Roosevelt Cage. A missed point after from the wildcats made the score 7-6 Norse. Late in the second with 8 seconds left in the half the Wildcats punched it in for their second score of the game on a 2-yd TD run from Drew Boxwell. Cage would convert the two-point conversion giving NDSCS a 14-7 lead going into halftime. To start the second half field conditions continued to worsen and heavy mud covered the majority of the field making traction difficult for both teams. Both teams were held scoreless in the second half making the final score NDSCS 14 MN North 7. The Wildcats were led by an impressive ground game totaling 264 yards on the ground Roosevelt Cage was the leading rusher with 211 yards on 34 carries.
