NDSCS closed out the regular season with two dominant performances on the road.
On Wednesday, the Wildcats traveled to Devils Lake, ND and came away with a 103-66 victory of Lake Region. Seven players scored in double figures for the Cats, led by 17 from Jordan Polynice who also led the team in rebounds and assists with seven and six. Mohamed Kone and Gare Ewefada each scored 15 points, Noble Cooper and Duoth Gach 13 apiece, while Oman Oman and Uhana Ochan rounded out the scoring with 11 and 10 points. NDSCS shot 59% from the field and dished out 29 assists to just 11 turnovers.
In the regular season finale on Sunday, the Cats recorded their highest scoring total of the season defeating Dakota College 109-84. NDSCS shot 59% from the field and 52% from three and led for almost the entire game en route to the victory. The Wildcats also recorded their highest assist total and assist to turnover ratio of the season with 34 assists to 11 turnovers. Noble Cooper poured in 30 points and handed out nine assists to lead NDSCS offensively. Duoth Gach scored 22 points and added six rebounds. Jordan Polynice recorded a double double, scoring 18 points and grabbing a team high 10 rebounds, while adding seven assists.
The Wildcats finish the season with an overall record of 25-5 and 11-3 in the Mon-Dak Conference. They will travel to Williston, ND for the Region 13 Tournament which tips off Thursday, February 28th and runs through Saturday, March 2nd. NDSCS has earned the #2 seed in the tournament and will receive a first round bye. The Cats will play the winner of #3 Dawson CC and #6 Bismarck State on Friday with tip off TBD.
