NDSCS Upset by Miles in Region XIII Semifinals

North Dakota State College of Science had their season ended Friday night in Region XIII Semifinals, falling 86-83 to Miles CC in Glendive, MT.
The loss represented the Cats first defeat at the hands of Miles after beating the Pioneers 87-73 in Miles City and 94-70 in Wahpeton.
NDSCS led by as many as 14 in the second half (74-60) but couldn’t stop a furious Miles comeback that saw the Pioneers end the game with a 26-9 run.
Reigning All-American Duoth Gach capped an incredible career at NDSCS with 21 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. The program’s all-time 3-point king ends the season with 91 3s and his career with 190 triples.
Redshirt freshman Diang Gatluak put together his best game of the season, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in 30 minutes off the bench.
Sophomores Mohamed Kone (13 points) and Uhana Ochan (10 points, seven rebounds, four assists) also reached double figures.
NDSCS finishes the season at 25-6, the program’s ninth consecutive 25-win season. It is the first time under Stu Engen that the Cats failed to reach the Region XIII Championship game.
