NDSCS Wildcat Volleyball Players Honored
The 2017 Region XIII All-Region and Mon-Dak All-Conference teams were announced last week and two Wildcats earned All-Region and All-Conference honors. Two Wildcats also entered the record books.
The 2017 Region XIII All-Region and Mon-Dak All-Conference teams were announced last week and two Wildcats earned All-Region and All-Conference honors. Two Wildcats also entered the record books at NDSCS.
Two NDSCS Wildcats were selected to the Region XIII All-Region and Mon-Dak All-Conference teams. Jasmine Bruer, a Sophomore middle hitter from West Fargo, ND, was a leader for the Wildcats both offensively and defensively. She led the team in kills with 343 in 35 matches and converted on offense to the tune of 2.81 kills per set with a kill percentage of 3.23. Bruer also was a key to the Wildcats' front line as she led the team in blocks with 137. For her career, Jasmine has compiled 260 blocks which places her at #2 on the All Time Blocks list.
Fellow Sophomore hitter Becca Weir, Villard, MN, played a large role in the Wildcats' offensive attack this season. She totaled 337 kills through 35 matches at a rate of 2.76 kills per set and a kill percentage of .325. Weir was also a solid defender at the net, tallying 69 blocks over the course of the season. Becca is a repeat selection for both All-Region and All-Conference teams.
Haley Kelvington, a Sophomore setter from Foley, MN, has been a mainstay in the Wildcats' rotation in her two years at NDSCS. This season Haley led the team in assists with 841 with an average of 6.89 per set. She also added 289 digs on defense. For her career, Haley has totaled 2092 assists which puts her at #4 on the All Time Assists list.
The Wildcats finished the season as Region XIII Runner-Up with a final record of 24-11. Congratulations and thank you to our sophomores on great careers at NDSCS and best of luck with all of your future endeavors.
