North Dakota State College of Science moved up one spot to No. 18 nationally in the Week 7 NJCAA D2 Top 20 Poll released Monday evening.
NDSCS (15-4) has won 13 of its last 15 matches, including six straight wins overall. Of those 13 wins, nine have been perfect sweeps and three have been won in four sets.
In fact, the Cats have dropped just eight total sets since Sep. 1.
Friday’s home sweep of nationally-ranked D3 power Minnesota State – Fergus Falls gave NDSCS its 82nd win in its last 91 home matches.
Sophomore All-American Gabby Hahn has 34 kills and 31 digs in her two matches last week, making a compelling case for Player of the Week.
Parkland (IL) remained at No. 1 nationally behind a 39-1 record entering the week. Defending national champion Coffeyville (KS) comes in at No. 2. Glendale (AZ), Cowley (KS) and Catawba Valley (NC) round out the top five.
NDSCS enters the toughest part of its schedule this week, with six games in five days, four of which are against teams that are currently nationally ranked. That includes a showdown with No. 4 Cowley on Friday.
But first, the Cats will continue Mon-Dak play this week with Montana rivals Miles and Dawson coming to Ed Werre Arena on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
