NDSCS Volleyball continued its torrid start to the season with a pair of 3-0 sweeps against visiting Miles Community College and Monday and Tuesday at Ed Werre Arena.
The Cats – who were ranked No. 11 in the latest NJCAA National Poll – have now won 14 straight and 71 of their last 77 at home. The perfect 11-0 start makes them one of just seven programs that are nationally ranked and unbeaten.
Sophomores Kortney Carney and Kaitlyn Emmil continue to play at an incredible level.
Carney ranks fourth nationally in assists per set (10.97) and 12th in total assists (362). Emmil’s .422 hitting percentage is the fifth-highest percentage in the nation.
The Cats will visit Jamestown University on Friday, preceding what will be a pivotal stretch of games in both the Mon-Dak Conference and Region XIII race.
NDSCS will play a home-and-home set vs. No. 12 Bismarck State College on March 8-9. That’ll be followed by a western road trip to Dakota College at Bottineau and Miles on March 12-13. Should the Cats navigate that stretch unscathed, they’d clinch at least a share of the Mon-Dak regular-season title and home court throughout the postseason.
Jane Passa’s group is still yet to drop a set in 2021.
