On Sunday, NDSCS rode the wave of a huge second half and a disruptive defensive effort to take down Central Lakes 35-15.
The Wildcat defense forced 6 turnovers and held the Raiders to just 172 yards of total offense. The defensive backfield flew around and picked off Central Lakes quarterback Jake Franklin four times. Habonimana Simon had two interceptions and KeJuan Ethridge and Tony Madison each had one. The frontline of the Cats defense was also strong as they held CLC to 15 yards rushing. Marshaun Jones led the defense with eight total tackles while recording one sack and 3.5 tackles for loss. Derrick Maxwell and Calvin Stribbling also had five tackles, respectively.
On offense, NDSCS got another great effort from Kingston Myles as he rushed for 139 yards on 21 attempts and found the endzone twice. Max Race also connected with Grant Brown and Carlton Calvert for touchdown passes of 13 and seven yards. Prince Kruah also had another solid game out of the backfield, running for 94 yards on 16 carries.
The #19 Wildcats improved to 9-1 and will face Northland CTC in the MCAC Championship game next Sunday, November 11 at noon on the campus of St. Cloud State University.
