NDSCS Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

 

Coach Freeman will be entering his 4th season leading the Wildcats offense. The Wildcats offense has improved each year under Coach Freeman’s guidance.

In 2022, the Wildcats finished the season 9-2, NJCAA National Runner-ups, and Region 13 Champions. The Wildcats offense ranked in the top 5 in the NJCAA in these categories: #3 in highest points/game average (33.7 points/game); #2 in Rushing yards (169.5 yards/game); #1 in yards per pass (9.8 yards/pass); #2 in passing TD’s (26); #2 in TD’s scored (46). The Wildcats offense produced 3 First Team NJCAA All-Americans in QB Graedyn Buell, WR Marselio Mendez, and OL Ethan Lyons. Lyons is NDSCS’s only 2-time 1st Team All-American.

In 2021, the Wildcats finished the season 9-1 and Regular Season Conference Champions. The Wildcats Offense ranked #1 Offense in TD Passes (26); #1 Offense in Passing Yards per Attempt (8.8 yards/att.); #2 in Offense in total TD’s (42); #3 Offense in Points (31.0 points/game); and #3 Offense in Total Passing (2398 yards). The Wildcats offense produced 1 NJCAA All-American in OL Ethan Lyons. The Wildcats also had 2 NJCAA Leaders in QB Graedyn Buell (Completion % - 59.2, QB Rush yards - 358, TD Passes - 20, and QB Efficiency – 159.6) and WR Marselio Mendez (TD Catches – 15, and Total TD’s - 18).

In 2019, the Wildcats finished with a record of 8-2, MCAC Western Division Champs, and was ranked #24 in the NJCAA final football rankings. The Wildcats offense finished #10 in Rushing Offense (216.5 yards/game) and #10 in Rushing TD’s (16) in the NJCAA. The Wildcats offense averaged 312.8 yards and 28.8 points per game. The Wildcats offense produced 1 NJCAA All-American in RB Desean Phillips. He was also the NJCAA Rushing leader.

Before becoming the offensive coordinator at NDSCS, Coach Freeman served as a high school Head Coach from 2015-2018 at Richland and Tri-State respectively, winning the North Dakota 9-man state Championship and named Coach of the Year in 2015.

Coach Freeman’s coaching experience extends to various high schools and colleges in North Dakota and Minnesota.

Freeman and his wife, Wendy, have 3 daughters Taylor (23), Katie (19), and Emma (10).
