Westling, Van Gils, and Deang Honored with All-Region Awards
The NDSCS Wildcats were well represented in this year's 2024-25 All Region XIII awards. The women's side saw both Maggie Westling and Demi Van Gils receive All Region XIII while Head Coach Bryant Friskop was named the Coach of the Year. The men's side were represented by Freshman Jikany Deang.
Westling put up averages of 19.2 points per game, 12.5 rebounds per game, and shot 59.1% from the field on the year. Westling was also named this years Tournament MVP for Region XIII. Westling was also named to the 2025 WBCA Two Year College Coaches' All American Honorable Mention list (https://wbca.org/news/wbca-announces-two-year-college-honorees-for-2024-25-season/). Van Gils put up 10.8 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game, and 1.8 assists per game. Van Gils hit the game winning shot to defeat Bismarck State in the Region XIII Championship.
Deang led the men's squad putting up 15.3 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game. A late season injury cut Deang's season early, but the Freshman was a force all over the court during the year.
