Wildcats Fall to Moraine Valley CC on Final Play
The NDSCS Baseball team fell to Moraine Valley CC 9-8 on Tuesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored the winning run.
The Wildcats had 11 hits in the game. Moraine Valley CC had eight hits on the day.
The Wildcats got on the board in the top of the first inning when Masen Allmaras singled to center. The Wildcats got another run off of a wild pitch. MVCC tied the game in the bottom of the first inning from a double and an error.
NDSCS was able to add to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Carter Maasjo singled to left field. Ben Clouse then grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring a run.
MVCC took the lead, and victory, 9-8 in the bottom of the seventh after an error occured.
Ryan Loewe started for the Wildcats giving up four hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings while striking out three batters and walking three.
The 'Cats put together 11 hits on the day. Allmaras and Dawson Crowe each collected three hits. Allmaras went 3-4 and led the team with three RBIs. Clouse went 2-4. Allmaras and Tori Uhlich each stole multiple bases in the game. NDSCS, as a team, stole five bases in the game.
MVCC had seven walks on the game as well as they stole three bases.
The Wildcats next play on Thursday against SUNY Adirondack.
