Baseball Falls to Lake Region in Two
Sophomore Day
The NDSCS Baseball team hosted Lake Region State College on Saturday for their annual Sophomore Day games.
The Wildcats had a lot of offensive production in the first game where they were able to put together 12 hits and five walks which helped produce eight runs in the game. Lake Region had seven hits and nine walks which led to them scoring nine and coming away with an 8-9 victory over the Wildcats. Garrett Solberg started for the 'Cats going 4.1 innings giving up three hits, five runs (all earned), and had two strikeouts. Skyler Fields had a good day batting going 3-3 and a walk with two runs scored and two RBIs. Dawson Crowe went 1-3 and had three RBIs. Tori Uhlich and Ryan Loewe each had two hits in the game.
In the second game, the Wildcats got off to a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning when Fields hit an RBI scoring Masen Allmaras. The Wildcats were able to put together eight hits in the game, but only scored the one solo run. Ben Clouse pitched for NDSCS where he went 5.2 innings giving up nine hits and four runs (three earned). Clouse had five strikeouts as well in the game.
The Wildcats will host Bismarck State College on Wednesday with gametimes starting at Noon and 2 PM at John Randall Field.
