(#5) Wildcats host Central Lakes for Homecoming
Homecoming and Sophomore Appreciation Saturday
On Saturday at 1:30 PM, the NDSCS Wildcats will host the Central Lakes College Raiders on Frank Vertin Field at Earl "Skip" Bute Stadium.
The Wildcats come into this weekend ranked 5th in the nation with a 4-2 record and will be hosting CLC who has a 1-3 record. The Wildcats look to build off a huge second half last weekend where they outscored their opponents 29-0 in the final two quarters. NDSCS is fifth in the nation putting up 29.7 PPG and are giving up 25.3 PPG to their opponents. The Wildcats defense has been holding opponents to just 37.5 rushing yards per game which is good for second best in the nation. The Wildcats defense is also tied for first in the nation with six fumble recoveries along to go with five interceptions and 10 sacks on the year. Offensively, the 'Cats are ranked third in the nation for rushing yards per game at 149.2, and they're fourth in the nation in rushing touchdowns with 11. The offense is also tied for fourth in the nation with 11 touchdown passes this year.
Trevion Carothers is ranked in the top five in the nation for receptions (fourth), yards (third), yards/game (fifth), average yards/reception (third), and touchdowns (second). Tyvon Cade is ranked seventh in the nation in rushing yards this year. Mason Pagel, on the defensive line, is 14th in the nation with 3.5 sacks on the year.
The Wildcats look to keep their momentum rolling into Saturday as each week keeps getting closer to the playoffs.
