Former NDSCS All-American Nate Seward has been named one of the Gophers’ “Nekton of the Week” following a stellar week of practice.
Seward, a junior at Minnesota, did not see game action this fall for the Gophers. As a sophomore at NDSCS he recorded 28 tackles, seven interceptions and 12 PBUs.
For Minnesota, earning the title of Nekton is a prestigious accomplishment.
Per DailyGopher.com, having a “Nekton Mentality is one of three things necessary to being elite. The site goes on to say the following:
1 - You are always hungry, always attacking and never satisfied
Always attacking and never satisfied is really what this comes down to. A Great White shark doesn’t ever stop or sit back and rest. Always moving, always attacking and never satisfied. It’s important to being Elite.
2 - You don’t let the situation dictate what is going to happen.
The technical definition of Nekton is an organism that can move independently of currents. Regardless of the situation a nekton organism is able to move at its will and do what it needs to do. Always attacking and never satisfied.
Congrats, Nate!!!
