The NDSCS offense was rolling to start as they jumped out to a 15 point lead at the half. They sustained a 23-2 run on the back of another hot shooting night from Sam Baker (Fr.), who went 6 for 6 from beyond the arc in the first half.
The second half was plagued by turnovers and poor shooting from the field but the Cats made plays down the stretch and converted from the foul line, converting on 20 of their 26 attempts. NDSCS also dominated the boards as they outrebounded Lake Region 51-37.
Key contributors for the Wildcats were Sam Baker who followed up his scoring outburst against BSC with 34 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the field and made 7 of 9 from three point land. Point guard Johnnie Turner (So.) put together his most complete game of the season, finishing with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists.
With the win, the Wildcats move to 16-4 on the season and remain undefeated in Mon-Dak play (4-0).
NDSCS hosts a pair of Mon-Dak games next week as Williston State College visits on Monday the 22nd and Dakota College at Bottineau follows on Thursday the 25th. Both game times are scheduled for 7:30 PM.
