Wildcats Bounce Back with Win at Bismarck
Five Wildcats scored in double figures as NDSCS defeated Bismarck State College on Thursday night, 99-83.
Melvin Newbern Jr. led the way for the Cats as he finished with 29 points and 16 rebounds. Newbern also made a living at the foul line, where he converted on nine of his 10 attempts. Johnnie Turner III registered a double-double as he scored 11 points and corralled 13 rebounds. Johnnie also dished out a team high five assists.
Others to score in double figures for NDSCS were Stevin Lipp with 18 points and Sam Baker and Oman Oman with 17 points apiece, respectively.
The Wildcats crushed the Mystics on the glass 59-34 and grabbed 22 offensive rebounds. They also shared the ball effectively, assisting on 19 of their 34 made baskets.
With the win, NDSCS improves to 21-5 (8-1). Up next, the Wildcats host Lake Region State College on Monday, the 15th in their final home game of the regular season. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
