Wildcats Pick up Three Wins in Rochester
Wildcats Scheduled to Play at Home on Saturday
The NDSCS Wildcats Softball team increased their winning streak to 10 games picking up wins against Rochester (10-0), St. Cloud Tech (9-3), and Itasca (10-1) to improve to 19-10-1 on the season.
Grace Folkema picked up the win in the first game against Rochester going four innings and giving up only one hit while striking out six. Ella Stewart pitched the final inning striking out all three of the batters she faced. Rayelle Cooley and Ava Howard went deep for the Wildcats in the game. Cooley and Howard both had two RBIs as well as Enjoli Villigan having two as well. Meridith Frey and Heeley Taylor also had an RBI in the game. The Wildcats scored 10 runs on eight hits and committed zero errors in the game.
Heeley Taylor picked up the win in the second game against St. Cloud Tech going four innings giving up four hits and one earned run. Stewart came in again late in the game to pick up another three strike outs in one inning pitched. Blythe Proulx hit a home run in the game where she had two RBIs. Kendyl Moss had three RBIs in the game while Taylor helped herself on the mound by going 2-4 with two RBIs. Caityln Dannenfelzer scored three runs with a double and an RBI as well. The Wildcats scored nine runs on 12 hits with three errors on the game. The Wildcats also were able to steal a total of seven bases.
NDSCS was able to win their third game on the day scoring 10 runs on six hits against Itasca. Folkema picked up her second win on the day going three innings and striking out seven of the 12 batters she faced. Cooley went deep with a home run in the game where she picked up two RBIs. Grace Harmider had three RBIs in the game. The Wildcats drew seven walks and were able to steal five bases.
The Wildcats are scheduled to play Miles Community College this weekend in Wahpeton starting on Saturday.
