Wildcats Win Three of Four Against Tetons
Wildcats Secure the Mon-Dak Regular Season Championship
The first game of the series was highlighted by a seven run third inning putting NDSCS up 10-0 early. The Tetons were able to get three runs in the game with NDSCS winning 11-3. Caitlyn Dannenfelzer had a huge game going 4-4 with three runs scored and four stolen bases. Grace Folkema picked up the win going 4.2 innings giving up five hits, three runs (one earned), and struck out seven.
Emma Johnson pitched the second game where she went six innings giving up six hits, three earned runs, and had six strikeouts in the Wildcats' 11-3 victory in game two. Dannenfelzer continued her huge day by going 2-3 with two home runs and three RBIs. Johnson was big on the mound and at the plate where she went 2-4 with four RBIs including a home run. Blythe Proulx added a home run herself in the Wildcats win.
Sunday's first game saw Heeley Taylor pick up her ninth win on the year where she went four innings giving up four hits, two earned runs, and three strikeouts. Emma Johnson came in for two innings to get her third save on the year. Blythe Proulx had another home run on the game. The Wildcats came away with a 7-4 win to make it 20 wins in a row.
The win streak was finally snapped in the fourth and final game of the series where Williston State came out on top 8-9. Wiliston had a four run fourth inning and a five run sixth inning to get their lead and hold onto it. Rayelle Cooley was 3-4 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBIs. Kendyl Moss was 2-4 with a run scored and two RBIs including a home run in the game. Ava Howard added two RBIs as well.
NDSCS has secured their title as Mon-Dak Champions posting an impressive 21-3 conference record. The Wildcats will next play Tuesday at Dakota County Technical College. The Wildcats will return home this weekend on Saturday where they'll host Dakota College at Bottineau in a best of three series starting at noon.
