Softball On To The NJCAA World Series
Wildcats Defeat Joliet 11-3 and 6-4
The NDSCS Wildcats have punched their ticket back to the NJCAA DIII World Series which will be held in Dewitt, NY starting on May 21, 2025. The World Series will be held May 21-24 at Carrier Park.

The Wildcats hosted Joliet Junior College on Tuesday in a best of three series. The Wildcats found themselves in a quick 0-2 hole after the first two innings of game one before they tied the game up at 2-2 in the bottom of the third. Joliet scored another run in the fourth before NDSCS put six runs on the board in the bottom half of the fourth to give themselves an 8-3 lead. The Wildcats would score three more in the bottom of the sixth to take the game by a final of 11-3. The team was led by Jessi Mathews who went 2-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs, Blythe Proulx who hit a solo home run, Katie Edmonds who went 3-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, and Rayelle Cooley who went 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Emma Johnson was the winning pitcher in game one.
Game two was a close battle throughout where the Wildcats entered the seventh and final inning by a score of 5-3. NDSCS would score an insurance run to put them up 6-3 before the bottom of the seventh where the Wolves only were able to get one run to make the game a final of 6-4 'Cats. Grace Folkema was the winning pitcher in the game and Ella Stewart came in to get the save including striking out the final two batters. Cooley had another big game going 2-5 with two RBIs and two doubles.
The Wildcats will travel to New York before the tournament starting next week. The NJCAA World Series bracket will be released on Monday May 19 at 5:00 PM EST.
