NDSCS Women Advance to District Championship
A tournament hosted in Wahpeton led to a Wildcat Regional Championship. The Women came in #22 ranked nationally and #1 ranked in the conference. On Saturday they handled business beating Lake Region 79-37. This advanced them to the regional championship where they played the Mon-Dak Conference's #2 ranked team the Williston State Tetons.
The Tetons played like they had nothing to lose in the first half and went into the locker rooms up 36-31 on the Cats. The Wildcats regrouped and came out ready in the third quarter. They started lighting it up from downtown and took a 50-49 into the fourth quarter where they continued to play smart basketball. They pulled ahead late and ended up winning 71-63.
The Wildcats were led by Arianna Berryhill with 19 points and 4 3's and Maile Hunt with 17 points and 8 rebounds. The Wildcats will host the District final with a chance to play in the National Tournament in Lubbock, Texas on the line on Saturday, March 11.
