(#13) Wildcats Cruise to Season Opening Win

The NDSCS Women's Basketball team played their season opener today in New Town, ND at the MonDak Preaseason Tournament.  The Wildcats took on Miles CC and defeated them by a score of 80-27.  The Wildcats got off to a quick start and were able to build a double digit lead heading into the second quarter.  The Wildcats defense cause fits for Miles winning the second and third quarters by a combined score of 47-6 to take a 71-20 lead into the fourth quarter.  The Wildcats shot 30/64 from the field including 8/16 from deep.

This was the first win for Head Coach Bryant Friskop

The Wildcats were led by Maggie Westling who had 20 points and 8 rebounds.  Ava Boyes, Mckena Koolmo, and Demi Van Gils all had double figure scoring as well.  Each Wildcat player scored at least 1 point in the game.  The Wildcats will take on Lake Region State College tomorrow at 5:15 PM.  The game can be viewed on the Lake Region State College website.
